It would be an important move toward open government. The New Jersey Legislature seems about to put the voting record of each state senator and Assembly member online. As things stand now, it is virtually impossible for the public to see in one-easy-to-find location how legislators voted on every measure before their house.

scrutiny.
The measure passed in the Senate last year, than languished seemingly forgotten after the Assembly amended it last June to require the Office of Legislative Services to updating voting records within 24 hours.

Bergenfield's chief financial officer has resigned amid allegations that one of his subordinates pocketed at least $16,000 in property tax revenue.
CFO Gene P. Leporiere was not involved in the theft, but should be held responsible for what happened in the tax office, officials said.
